FAR CRY 2 PC INTRO NOT WORKING DRIVERS

I hope I am making sense here :) I hate it as much as you all do. Most old games only go back so many DirectX versions.Depends on the game and Video Card. It is what it is so I gave up trying old games on a new Windows 8 system. I been a troubleshooter for over 17 years. This Subreddit is community run and does not represent NVIDIA in any capacity unless specified. I just basically found other means to play the game, Xbox 360, or PS4. A place for everything NVIDIA, come talk about news, drivers, rumors, GPUs, the industry, show-off your build and more. I tried playing Windows 98 games such as Deer Hunter 4 and Deer Hunter 5 on my GT620, it is just impossible with high speed DirectDraw and Direct3D, textures ended up so garbled, couldn't even see where I was walking, I knew that older games are just simply an issue with new high-tech hardware.

Far Cry 1 does that to me, I can't run all details on max because the Game Ready Drivers from Nvidia are Performance drivers, rather not allowing us to run our Anti-Aliasing, Anisotropic, etc.textures and so on. It sucks to do that, but youre only a few minutes into the game. Im not sure what causes it, my only suggestion would be to start a new game and follow exactly the tutorial instructions. I have seen so much where drivers are the main culprit majority of the time for application hangs and crashes. Now that I think about it, I seem to recall people having this problem before. Thus being how technology changes, older our games get based on OS,CPU and GPU technology the more they become 'incompatible'. I agree most games should still function, but they just don't wouldn't think it's a OS issue, rather a Graphics problem, lots of 'old' games don't work properly and due to video card drivers, it's not the drivers are bad, it's because of enhancements that doesn't work well with old games.
